Wechsel im Coach – Stuff! Dana Beszczynski zieht es in die deutsche Bundesliga!
Erster „Auslandstransfer“ beim DBB LZ OÖ! Anfang letzter Woche hat unser Bundesliga und wU19-Coach zu einem persönlichen Gespräch gebeten und seinen Wunsch bekannt gegeben, ein Angebot aus der deutschen Bundesliga annehmen zu wollen. Eine tolle Chance für Dana, für die wir ihm natürlich alles Gute und viel Erfolg wünschen. Mittlerweile ist Beszczynski mit einem 3 Jahresvertrag beim hessischen Erstligisten BC Pharmaserv Marburg ausgestattet und wird dort seine über 36 Jahre Erfahrung als Basketballtrainer einbringen.
Dana übernimmt bei den Hessen von Patrick Unger, der nach 7 Jahren nach Giessen wechselt und dort Nachwuchskoordinator wird. Der BC Pharmaserv Marburg beendete die letzte, natürlich ebenfalls abgebrochene Saison auf Rang 9 in der 12er Liga.
In der letztjährigen Premierensaison des DBB gewinnt Dana mit seinen Mädels das größte Basketballturnier Europas – das Osterturnier in Wien. Beim Meisterschafts-Final-4 der wU19 holt sich sein Team Platz 3. In der Bundesliga verpasst man im letzten Spiel gegen Klosterneuburg den Einzug ins Halbfinale! Ebenfalls in Erinnerung bleibt uns die Europameisterschaft der wU16 in Skopje, wo mit Dana ja auch noch unsere Lara mit von der Partie war.
Schöne Zeiten also, die wir gemeinsam hinter uns gebracht haben! So sieht es auf Dana, der sich mit folgenden Worten vom DBB verabschiedet:
"A Thank You On DBB LZ OÖ" For the last 2 & 1/2 years I've had the privilege of working for the DBB LZ OÖ Women's Basketball Club. During this time, I've had the chance to meet many new people who I'll now call lifelong friends and also worked with incredible young ladies on the court. The last 2 & 1/2 years has seen a growth in me as both a person & Coach and I have the people inside the Club to thank for this. To my Players I say thank you for all your hard work, passion, efforts, support and heart for the game of Basketball. We've gone through a lot together in such a short time, but those memories and the connection we share as Coach & Players will never be forgotten, you will always remain part of my Basketball Family. We reached 2 Finals Fours together and last year, we were able to win the Vienna Easter Tournament in the WU18 Division with such an Incredible Team effort. I am very proud of your growth as Basketball Players, but also and more importantly as young Ladies making their way into your futures. You all have so much to give and share, stay your course both on & off the court, stay true to who you are as people and follow your dreams for everything can be reached with the same determination & hard work you showed on the court. Thank you for all the moments & memories you've given me. To all those in the “Vorstand”, thank you for your support and guidance during my time in DBB. The multitude of talks, laughs, and iconic moments will stay with me as I continue on in my basketball journey. Too not be forgotten, are the support staff at the home games who worked long hours on the buffet, set-up and take down. There as well, I made some new friends and the amount of respect I have for your sacrifices is gigantic. I say thank you to all the Parents who gave up their time to drive us all over Austria for games, for your work behind the scenes and for supporting your daughters in their dreams to play basketball.
Finally, I say thank you to the Incredible DBB fans who stuck with us through all the ups & downs, but your loyalty never wavered. Continue on in supporting the generations that are up & coming, they need your support too! I wish all of you nothing but success for the future both on & off the court, continue to work hard, believe and build DBB LZ OÖ. Coach B

An der Nachfolge für Dana wird im Hintergrund natürlich bereits gearbeitet.
